The Match Draws Even

• Level 22: 10,000-20,000, 0 ante

With about 100,000 in the middle on an {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} board, Ilias Sagias checked.

Yuki Ko bet 70,000 and Sagias called. The river came the {k-Spades} and Sagias checked again. Ko counted out 240,000 and bet it.

Sagias announced pot and Ko snap-folded. They both have just about the same amount of chips now, half way through Level 22.

Early Momentum for Sagias

• Level 22: 10,000-20,000, 0 ante

The first hand of heads up saw Yuki Ko limp in and Ilias Sagias checked. On the flop {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, Ko bet 20,000 and won the pot.

The next hand, Sagias limped and Ko checked. On the flop {J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Ko check-raised from 20,000 to 50,000 and was called before leading the {10-Diamonds} turn for 55,000. Sagias called and Ko then check-folded to a bet of 125,000 after the {2-Hearts} river.

Ko won 40,000 chips back one hand later with a raise preflop and a successful continuation bet on the {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop. But Sagias got them back right away in similar manner.

Ko limped in, Sagias checked. On the flop {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Sagias check-called a bet of 40,000 and they checked the {5-Hearts} turn. On the {A-Spades} river, Sagias bet 85,000 and that won the pot.

Last but not least, there was raising action preflop already with the Japanese three-betting and Ko bet the {6-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop for 65,000. Sagias called and took down the pot after the {4-Diamonds} turn, as Ko check-folded to a bet of 135,000.

Costa: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} and Ko made a full house to crack Costa's queens.

Mostafa Haidary Eliminated in 4th Place ($17,795)

• Level 21: 8,000-16,000, 0 ante
Mostafa Haidary
Mostafa Haidary

Yuki Ko raised to 42,000 and was called by Peter Costa on the button. On the flop {8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and the {4-Clubs} turn, both players checked. Ko check-raised the {10-Clubs} river and Costa forfeited a bet of 70,000. There was some confusion whether Ko had said call or pot, as Costa assumed the former and then showed his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} before mucking.

One hand later, Mostafa Haidary raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and was called by Ilias Sagias from one seat over. The flop {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} was checked, Haidary then gave up the turn.

Haidary raised the next hand to 55,000 again and Ko reraised the pot out of the small blind. Haidary shoved it in and was snap-called. "It doesn't matter what he has, let's just do this," Haidary said while being at risk for around 230,000 chips.

Haidary: {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Ko: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The flop {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} was of no help at all for Haidary and he asked the dealer for running hearts. The start-of-the-day chip leader was drawing dead on the {2-Spades} turn and Ko even made a full house on the {Q-Clubs} river. Haidary was still smiling though and headed to the rail with the words "now show me the money," he receives A$17,795 for his efforts.

• Level 21: 8,000-16,000, 0 ante

Yuki Ko, Mostafa Haidary and Ilias Sagias headed three handed to a {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop.

Ko checked, Haidary shoved and Sagias was the only one to call.

Sagias: {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Haidary made the nut flush on the {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} run out to double through.

Sagias Hits Everything

• Level 21: 8,000-16,000, 0 ante

Mostafa Haidary opened to 50,000 from the button and was called by both Ilias Sagias and Yuki Ko in the blinds. The trio checked down the flop {2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and the {A-Hearts} turn before Sagias bet the {2-Spades} river for 95,000. Ko called and Haidary got out of the way to see Sagias turn over {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a full house as winning hand.

Sagias Doubles Through Haidary

• Level 21: 8,000-16,000, 0 ante

Mostafa Haidary made it 32,000, Ilias Sagias bumped it to 120,000 and Haidary called.

Sagias pushed all in on the {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and Haidary called.

Sagias: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Haidary: {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}

The {6-Clubs} turn made Sagias a straight and it held through the {2-Diamonds} river.

Roger Swolf Eliminated in 5th Place ($14,455)

Roger Swolf
Roger Swolf

Yuki Ko raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and was called by Peter Costa on the button and Roger Swolf in the small blind. The fireworks started on the flop {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} with Swolf leading for 75,000. Ko asked for the pot size and then raised to 361,000 with Costa quickly folding. Swolf studied his cards and the board for a minute before announcing the call.

Swolf: {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a pair of sevens and a wrap
Ko: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a set of threes

The {Q-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing whatsoever and Swolf bricked the {10-Clubs} river, which gave Ko a full house and the chip lead.

Both players folded and Sagias has climbed back in it.
